BattleGrounds 2 is a Half Life 2 mod aimed at bringing players into the world of Colonial America during the 1700-1800 time periods. The gameplay is focused on capturing of flags and strategic points, however, enthusiastic history buffs have created a more realistic way in playing by instituting "Line Battles". Line Battles is a realism type of play in BG2 in which regiments of opposing forces face off on a map in line formations rather than classic pub style. Line Battles focus on:

• Engagements must be performed in a line formation
• Players killed will be auto moved to spec until last man is killed
• Battle commands for quick formations and techniques
